Nikon Inc., renowned riflescope manufacturer and pioneer in advanced laser rangefinding technology, has combined speed, accuracy and simplicity to create the new 4-12x42 Laser IRT (Immediate Ranging Technology) Riflescope. The Laser IRT riflescope system combines Nikon's new, patent-pending BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) reticle, with an integral Laser Rangefinder. The laser rangefinder and precision BDC reticle work together to provide hunters with three important ingredients for long-range hunting shots - precise distance measurement, proper aiming point, and speed for immediate shot placement. The riflescope is also available with Nikon's Nikoplex reticle. The patent-pending IRT technology returns precise and continuous distance readings for a period of twelve seconds, allowing the hunter time to range the animal and select the appropriate aiming circle. Once the animal is spotted, simply hit the button and settle in for the shot. The IRT keeps the hunter current on the range as the animal moves. The unique one-touch rangefinding capabilities of the IRT can also be operated using the included remote control switch, which can be attached to the rifle with a Velcro® strap. The new Laser IRT Riflescope weighs in at 26 oz and measures 13.1 inches in length. Eye relief is limited to 3 inches and a low profile mounting system allows the riflescope to be mounted on almost any rifle the shooter prefers. O-ring sealed and nitrogen-filled for true waterproof, fogproof and shockproof performance, the Laser IRT is built for virtually any kind of environment. Hand-turn 1/4-MOA click reticle adjustments allow precise site-ins and a quick-focus eyepiece is standard on the Laser IRT riflescope. The scope operates on a 3volt CR-2 battery and ranges up to 766 yards. The rangefinding capabilities of the IRT are the same as those in Nikon's extensive Laser Rangefinder product line, with a bright, 3-digit electroluminescent display that measures in either yards or meters. The measurement mode can be switched between either continuous or normal, measurement accuracy is within a yard, and the unit displays a reading in less than 3 seconds. |
